What is the education tax credit?

There are 2 types of education credits, and you must choose which one (each year):

Hope Credit – Only applies for the first 2 years after high school. If must be for at last ½ time study. The ceiling each year is $1,500 per student (100% of the first $1,000, 50% of the next $1,000).

Life Time Learning Credit – Applies for any undergraduate study, but any study l less than ½ time must be work related. The ceiling is $1,000 (20% of expenses up to $5,000) per taxpayer per year.

Investment Management

I’ve heard people talking about fee-only money management. What is it exactly?

We work for a flat rate, not pay per trade. We’re motivated by the same thing you are, higher net worth. We are not motivated to trade for commissions.

Taxation

Do you only provide tax strategies? Or do you help in implementing the strategies and follow through with tax preparation?
